HIT OR FLOP: Ishqbaaaz, Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka, Nimki Mukhiya, Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2?
Let’s begin Week 46’s (November 10-16) round-up by talking about the show that has surpassed expectations. Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 starring Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan has made a smashing comeback to Top 10. We bet, the makers have been concerned about the show’s deteriorating performance ever since it went on-air but its achievement this week must have them dancing in the aisles. This is indeed huge!

Furthermore, Surbhi Chandana and Nakuul Mehta’s Ishqbaaaz failed to create a buzz and didn’t feature even in Top 20. Yesterday, the actress announced her exit and speculations are rife that the actor may follow suit. The family drama will now take a generation leap. It will be interesting to see if the shocking news helps the show make it to the merit list.

Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka which is extensively written and spoken about owing to its storyline and performances too disappointed. This week too it didn’t find a spot in Top 20. The show has taken a 6-year leap and has now introduced Kunal-Mauli’s daughter, Mishti and Kunal-Nandini’s daughter, Pari. Will this change the trend? Nimki Mukhiya starring Bhumika Gurung acquired the 16th spot. The show was once a Top 10 regular but for many weeks now has not managed to climb the ladder.

The Top 3 positions yet again went to Ekta Kapoor – Naagin 3, Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya. Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala showcased minor improvement (went from 5 to 4). Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai registered significant improvement and clinched the 6th spot. Also in the list of shows having climbed the ladder is Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. You may recall, last week, it was ousted from Top 10. We bet, the makers would have heaved a sigh of relief. Indian Idol was the 5th most-watched show. The TV world is a fickle one, let’s see what’s in store for fans next week.
